This (these) are a part-time, non-tenure position which is appointed on a per semester basis.
Position(s) will be to teach laboratory section(s) (3 contact hours) of CH113 General Chemistry I, and/or CH151 Chemistry for the Health Sciences. The laboratories sessions are held during the hours of 8:00AM to 2:00PM and 5:30PM to 8:20PM (CH113 and CH151) or on Sunday, back to back, times are 12:00PM – 2:45PM and 2:50PM – 5:35PM (CH151).
Position will be to teach CH241 Quantitative Chemistry lecture (3 contact hours) and laboratory (3 contact hours; 4 hour session) times to be determined.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s or doctorate degree in chemistry or biochemistry;
  • Demonstrated successful teaching experience at the college/university level;
  • Experience using education software programs, such as Blackboard.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Teach 3 to 6 contact hours per semester of undergraduate level laboratory coursework.
  • Integrate the Mercy core values of respect, integrity, compassion, justice and service in all aspects of interaction.
  • Advise and mentor students.
  • Teach at the Lakewood, NJ campus.

MISCELLANEOUS/SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES THAT ARE SOMETIMES INVOLVED IN THIS JOB:

  • Proper handling and disposal of all laboratory generated wastes are per GCU policy, consistent with all applicable local, state and federal laws.
