Description The Adjunct Instructor – Microbiology & Infection Control is responsible for delivering high-quality synchronous online instruction to college-level students. This includes helping students understand the structure, function, and classification of microorganisms, as well as the principles of disease transmission, immunity, and infection prevention in healthcare and community settings. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Deliver live, scheduled online class sessions and actively teach during all assigned meeting times Develop and deliver lectures, discussions, and learning activities focused on microbiological concepts, including microbial structure, function, growth, and classification Explain the human immune response, including innate and adaptive immunity, and the role of vaccines and antimicrobial therapies Teach infection control principles, including standard precautions, sterilization, disinfection, and prevention of healthcare-associated infections AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER. Requirements Master’s degree in microbiology, biology, or a closely related field required; individuals with a master’s degree in another discipline may be considered with evidence of at least 15 graduate semester credits in microbiology, biology, or a related field Demonstrated experience teaching at the college level preferred Clinical, healthcare, or infection control experience is preferred Proven ability to develop and implement effective instructional strategies for diverse learners Experience with online learning management systems/platforms (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas) and instructional technology is preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
