To learn more, please visit our company website: https://mckinneysl.com/ Position Overview: McKinney Specialty Labs is looking for a Chemistry Analyst who will be responsible for performing tasks required to meet the expectations of our clients, in addition to efficiently and profitably generating defensible data in a timely manner. This Analyst will have experience working with multiple instruments within gas chromatography and liquid chromatography – such has GC, GCMS, LC, LCMS, or ICPMS. These tasks will be performed under the direction of a Group Leader or Technical Director. This role is an adjusted full-time schedule. The shift is Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday; 7am to 5pm. This is a full time position and will be key in keeping our lab running 7 days a week. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Preparation of tobacco, cigar(ette), eliquid, or aerosol samples for analysis · Preparation of reagents for lab use and/or shipment · Preparation of data summaries for inclusion in client reports. · Maintaining clean laboratory areas · Instrument calibration and validation · Instrument maintenance and troubleshooting · Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis, equipment maintenance and data collected off site · Maintain consumables and parts for instruments · Overhead projects designed to improve efficiency of, or accuracy of analyses · Communicating relevant updates to applicable people in a timely manner · Ability to work on multiple batches with only minimal instruction from their supervisor · Performing other duties and responsibilities as prescribed by the Group Leader · Compliance with McKinney Specialty Labs Quality Assurance Program and other policies · Compliance with McKinney Specialty Labs Health and Safety Plan · Comfortable working with chemicals, glassware, and tobacco/nicotine products · Ability to remain flexible and handle changing priorities · Position requires attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and a desire to worth both as part of a team and independently Necessary Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the duties and responsibilities. · BA / BS Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, related field, or equivalent training · Minimum 1 year of gas chromatography or liquid chromatography experience · Strong instrument maintenance and troubleshooting skills · With minimum supervision, they must be able to routinely meet QA/QC requirements for the assays they perform. · Must be able to describe the operation of the instrument or the chemistry involved in the assays they perform. · Knowledge of analytical methods, analytical instruments, general lab practices and lab safety · Good organization and communication skills · Must be flexible in work schedule (including Saturday) and able to work overtime Preferred Skills: · Experience with Empower, ChemStation or Chromeleon software · Knowledge of ISO17025 · Documentation, timeliness, and throughput must meet the standard of the laboratory.
