Application Analyst – Administrative Division
(Pay: $24.85 - $39.77 / hour)
The purpose of this position is to provide technical support for the Department of Public Utilities business systems and software applications, to create, run and submit database queries and reports; and to update and maintain related data.

Essential Functions

  • Provides end-user support for DPU business systems and software applications.
  • Troubleshoots end-user problems.
  • Develop SQL, database queries, and database reporting tools utilizing source control concepts and changing management procedures.
  • Updates and maintains data.
  • Maintains an awareness of new applications, technologies, technical methods, trends, and advances in the profession.
  • Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated timeframes and per established procedures.
  • Operates a personal computer and other electronic devices with comprehensive knowledge of Windows 10 or higher, Microsoft 365 Office: Word, Outlook, Excel, OneDrive, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, and Access.
  • Communicate with supervisor, other employees, vendors, and other individuals as needed.
  • May be required to work after normal business hours, weekends, holidays, Standby Duty or be called out as needed 24 hours/day 7 days/week to maintain service to customers in the event of a natural disaster, emergencies, or any other disruption of service.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Computer Programming, Information Technology, or a related field required; supplemented by three years of experience in computer programming, technical support or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
  • MS SQL one year preferred.
  • Must reside within a radius of Orangeburg, SC that allows for a 30-minute maximum response to call outs and emergencies.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina Driver’s License.
