School Description

The American International School Chennai (AISC) is a nonprofit, Early Years–Grade 12 international school in South Chennai, India. For 30 years, AISC has been a destination for educators and families seeking excellence, purpose, and belonging. We combine American and international curricula delivered by world-class faculty within a multicultural environment that prepares learners to thrive anywhere in the world.

Located in the green neighborhood of Taramani, just 20 minutes from the city center, our 13-acre campus blends innovation and sustainability. AISC is the first K-12 school in the world to achieve LEED Platinum certification using the ARC framework from the U.S. Green Building Council. The campus features sustainable design, shaded courtyards, purposeful learning spaces, and exhibits of local art, creating an environment that is both learner-centered and community-oriented.

Our facilities include 110+ classrooms, 9 science labs, 3 libraries, 2 design technology labs, a 750-seat auditorium, and extensive arts, sports, and wellness spaces—including a 25-meter pool, 6-lane track, and multiple cafés.
