REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS*

High school diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience (4+years) is necessary.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires moderate standing/walking, as well as lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring of patients.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health related field, Business Administration or other related field.
  • Experience working within a large, complex health care setting.
  • Familiarity with UMHS electronic systems.
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Essential:
  • Manage purchases within budgetary guidelines.
  • Coordinates the processing and completion of various site business transactions
  • Perform multiple tasks in a timely efficient manner with continuous regard to details.
  • Uses creativity and knowledge of Michigan Medicine resources to problem-solve.
  • Process posting/hiring paperwork, job data changes and other functions utilizing the MPathways system.
  • Process monthly and bi-weekly payroll and reconcile payroll reports for accuracy.
  • Manage clinical competencies in blue folders and license verification for licensed personnel.
  • Manage CME funding for appropriate staff.
  • Process LOA, FMLA, tuition reimbursements/advancements.
  • Process concur reimbursements and monthly p-card transactions.
  • Collaborates with management/lead staff to facilitate various projects.
  • Serves as a positive role model and is an integral member of the clinical leadership team. Demonstrates proactive problem solving skills and takes the initiative to identify, act and follow through on problems. Is able to consider the impacts of decisions/changes beyond the immediate work group.
  • Acts as a key administrative resource in the manager’s absence.
  • Relates work and job purpose to UMHHC mission and commitment to putting patients and families first.
