M.B. Laboratories Ltd is a busy full-service analytical chemistry and microbiology laboratory. We offer diagnostic and analytical services to a wide variety of professionals, businesses, consultants, private citizens, and government agencies in British Columbia and across Canada. We are a small company with a highly trained, professional staff. We are looking for dedicated individual who can handle our day to day accounting requirements and willing to interact with the other administrative staff.
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable/Payable Book keeper or Officer to join our team. The person will be responsible for managing and processing all accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and with others.
Duties:
· Process accounts receivable transactions, including invoicing, posting payments, and reconciling customer accounts, account payable transactions and payments.
· Monitor and follow up on outstanding customer balances
· Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to customer payments - Prepare and distribute monthly statements to customers as required.
· Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing or payment-related inquiries
· Maintain accurate records of all accounting transactions
· Complete month/year-end closing activities related to accounts
· Reception duties, such as answering phone, responding to emails and assisting in office customers
· Cross training in reception or other required positions once trained in primary roll is completed
· Assist owner with tasks and projects as necessary
Qualifications:
· Associate degree in accounting or related field preferred, or book keeping training and
experience.
· Proven experience as an Accounts Receivable or Payables Clerk or in a similar role
· Proficient in accounting software (Sage) and MS Office Suite1
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
