ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT / FINANCIAL STATEMENT PROOFREADER

My client, a well-established accounting firm, is seeking an Administrative Assistant / Financial Statement Proofreader. This role is ideal for someone with exceptional attention to detail, excellent English skills, and functional French (an asset but not required).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • English: 100% proficiency (French functional is an asset)
  • Strong attention to detail and formatting skills
  • Ability to work with digital tools and adapt to different partner preferences
  • Administrative or proofreading experience, preferably in an accounting or professional services firm
  • Ability to work in-office (flexible 2 days in / 3 days out; not fully remote)

Responsibilities
  • Review financial statements in CaseWare for spelling, grammar, and formatting accuracy
  • Apply consistent formatting, underlining, and styles according to firm standards
  • Ensure all presentation elements are correct from a “non-accountant” perspective
  • Understand how a financial statement is structured (training provided if needed)
  • Format and prepare engagement letters, apply letterheads, generate PDFs, and use DocuSign
  • Search and organize electronic files, emails, and documents
  • Work primarily electronically with some paper file handling (approx. 20% of work)
