YOU’LL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous admin experience in a healthcare or legal setting preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of (or willingness to learn about) the Mental Health Act 1983/2007.
    This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
Responsibilities
  • Liaise with external bodies such as the Tribunal Service, CQC, Ministry of Justice, and the Courts.
  • Support colleagues in providing guidance on mental health legislation, with support from the MHA Administration team.
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of the Mental Health Act 1983.
  • Assist in accepting and scrutinising section papers and related legal documentation.
  • Ensure individuals are lawfully held under the Act and escalate/document any required remedial actions within legal timeframes.
  • Upload and maintain legal documents on patient records in compliance with the law.
  • Support the preparation and tracking of statutory records, including section renewals, section 132 rights, and consent to treatment forms.
