POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will perform all the administrative duties of the Office of Special Investigation (OSI). Requires strong organizational skills, oral and written communication skills along with the ability to multi-task. This position will assist managing the budget for the division and track expenditures. This position will manage all payment of bills, ordering, purchasing, and preparation of documentation for supplies and equipment for the division using standard department of revenue procedures. The position will make reservations and travel arrangements for the OSI personnel. The position performs all phone reception duties, specifically answering all incoming calls, routing any calls to the proper OSI employee and maintaining a call log. This position will interact by phone with subjects who might be under investigation for fraud and requires a high level of confidentiality. The position will perform administrative steps in creating and maintaining physical files for cases being investigated by OSI, as well as entering case information in OSI’s case management database. This would include drafting necessary documentation, filing reports, copying and mailing any necessary paperwork. This person will act as the liaison to the KDOR Office of Financial Management and other state bureaus. Must be a proven self-starter who enjoys a challenge, has above average computer skills, has attention to detail, and enjoys working with a variety of people. This position might be assigned other duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Qualifications: Four years of experience in general office, clerical and administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Preferred Experience: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, able to prioritize and execute on multiple and frequently changing priorities. Ability to verbally communicate professionally and effectively in stressful situations. Effective and professional writing skills with the ability to clearly explain and relay facts. Bilingual-Spanish preferred.
Preferred Skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, proofreading, editing, and attention to detail. Individual should have strong organizational and communication skills and a competency for customer service.
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements: KBI and FBI fingerprint required due to access to Federal Tax Information files in KDOR systems.
