Are you looking for a dynamic and rewarding role where no two days are the same? Do you thrive in an environment that requires precision, responsibility, and trust? If so, we want you to join our team at HMP Thameside, London’s only private prison, as an Admin Support Officer.
At HMP Thameside, we manage a Category B resettlement prison, providing secure and effective services for up to 1,232 male prisoners. As part of our finance and administration team, you will ensure that prisoners’ financial assets, valuables, and accounts are accurately managed, safely stored, and efficiently processed. What You’ll Be Doing
As an Admin Support Officer, you will be a key figure in the prison’s financial and administrative operations. Your responsibilities will include:
Handling and securing prisoners’ valuables, ensuring all items are properly documented and accounted for.
Managing prisoner accounts by processing cash, cheques, and secured payments.
Performing financial reconciliations, ensuring that all funds received and transferred are accurate.
Issuing funds to prisoners upon release or transfer, ensuring all records are up to date.
Processing wages for prisoners and resolving payment queries efficiently.
Managing incoming and outgoing mail, as well as handling small deliveries and packages.
Providing administrative support, including answering queries, handling paperwork, and offering a professional telephone service.
Ensuring the security of sensitive information, complying with all prison policies and procedures. What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for individuals who are highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident working in a fast-paced environment. If you have experience handling cash and managing financial transactions – perhaps from working in retail, banking, or administration – this role could be a great fit for you.
Experience handling cash transactions and reconciliations is essential.
