REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Certificate or diploma in Office Administration, Indigenous Studies, Social Services, or a related field; or equivalent lived/professional experience
  • Experience in administrative support in a child welfare, education, or social services setting
  • Knowledge of child care case documentation and understanding of service coordination in a First Nations context
  • Strong time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort working with confidential records and electronic databases Equivalency will be considered. Familiarity with Indigenous child care systems or lived experience in caregiving is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Admin Support Worker – Child Care provides administrative and organizational support to the Child Care team within the Child Welfare department. This position ensures timely, accurate, and confidential handling of case-related documentation, scheduling, and inter-team coordination. The role is critical to the effective operation of child care and placement services and contributes to culturally safe and accountable service delivery in Treaty 9 territory.
