About the Surgery Centre and Operating Suite The Surgery Centre (TSC) on the Repatriation Campus provides a unique service by separating short-stay and day case elective surgery from emergency surgery, which is performed predominantly at the Austin campus. TSC includes 8 Operating Rooms, 2 Endoscopy Rooms, 12 bay Recovery Room and an inpatient unit consisting of 32 available overnight beds and 21 Day Surgery spaces. Austin Operating Suite (AOS) on the Austin Campus provides a broad range of elective and emergency surgeries, including liver transplant and cardiothoracic surgery. AOS includes 11 Operating Rooms, 2 Procedure Rooms, 2 Endoscopy Rooms, Post Anaesthesia Recovery Unit (PARU) with High Dependency patient facilities, the Surgery and Endoscopy Centre (SAEC) consisting of 32 spaces to accommodate Day Surgery patients, 9 West with 24 available overnight beds and Acute Surgical Transition Unit (ASTU) with 6 available spaces to accommodate fast tracking of patients presenting to the Emergency Department. About the role As the Admin Team Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of services by the Administration Team across both The Surgery Centre (Repat Campus) and the Austin Operating Suite (Austin Campus). You will work across both campuses to support alignment of best practice, workflows, and operational knowledge across the two sites. This is a permanent, full time position with a monthly ADO. A regular day will see you:    Over-see the daily operations within the Administration Team, coordinating and directing staff to ensure service needs are being met daily Assist and support the Admin Manager as needed, to maintain efficient leadership of the Administration Team and smooth operation of all administrative functions within the department Support the coordination of planned and unplanned leave for the team, including assisting in arranging cover and providing cover when required About you To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you: Experience in leading an administration team, managing rosters, delegating tasks, and optimising workflows Excellent organisational and time management skills Proven excellence in customer service, with a genuine commitment to patient care Ability to give and receive feedback in a constructive framework Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal To work both autonomously as a leader and member of a dynamic team, which works effectively within a multi-disciplinary environment Our benefits Working at Austin Health means enjoying a strong sense of purpose, engaging in meaningful work every day.
