JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Part-Time Administrator to support the Plant Department. The role involves a range of administrative duties, including maintaining accurate records, auditing files, managing schedules, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the department.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous administrative experience, ideally within construction, rail, or plant hire sectors
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Familiarity with document control or auditing processes is desirable
Responsibilities
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, photocopying, and data entry
  • Maintain and update plant equipment records, registers, and internal databases
  • Audit and ensure all plant-related files and documentation are complete, accurate, and compliant
  • Assist with the preparation, logging, and tracking of service reports, hire forms, delivery notes, and inspection records
  • Coordinate and maintain maintenance schedules for plant and machinery
  • Support with tracking and scheduling plant hires, returns, and off-hires
  • Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers regarding plant movements and requirements
  • Monitor and order consumables or parts as needed
  • Assist with health and safety documentation and compliance requirements
  • Respond to internal and external queries in a timely and professional manner
