PRIMARY DETAIL

  • Appointment Type: Casual, Flexible working hours, up to 7 hours per day, Part-time, Monday to Friday.
  • Salary package: HEW Level 4, $52.46 per hour + 11.5% super
  • Location: Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde

Professional experience placement is an important part of a Teacher Education Students’ (TES) degree. This casual position supports:

  • Students on their Professional Experience Placements,
  • Tertiary Supervisors who are allocated students in the field,
  • Supervising Teachers in schools and early childhood settings,
  • Unit Convenors of the Professional Experience units, and
  • The WIL team for a range of admin tasks including using a variety of communication channels to assist with TES progress, processing results, and enquiries as appropriate
Responsibilities

We are looking to appoint a team of up to 4 casual Administrative Assistants in Placement Support, for the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) team in the Faculty of Arts. This team will provide support for Teacher Education Students undertaking several professional experience placements for their education degree.

Professional experience placement is an important part of a Teacher Education Students’ (TES) degree. This casual position supports:

  • Students on their Professional Experience Placements,
  • Tertiary Supervisors who are allocated students in the field,
  • Supervising Teachers in schools and early childhood settings,
  • Unit Convenors of the Professional Experience units, and
  • The WIL team for a range of admin tasks including using a variety of communication channels to assist with TES progress, processing results, and enquiries as appropriate.

It is important to note that this work is casual in nature and requirements for Placement Support will change from session to session based on business needs, student enrolments, professional experience placement and unit requirements.

The Work Integrated Learning team (WIL) administers and organises activities, including teacher education students’ placements in the Faculty of Arts. The WIL Office establishes relationships with schools and early childhood settings, inviting them to participate in the Professional Experience program to host teacher education students.
