Your role at St John of God Ballarat Hospital We are seeking an Administration Assistant to join our Emergency Department team on a casual basis. You will be responsible for providing high-level administration support to the relevant department. Communicate effectively with all customers and patients using the appropriate channels, utilising appropriate formal and informal channels of communication. This role will be predominately night-shift but can include switchboard day/evening shifts too. The Position Contributes to and is involved in Quality Activities with a focus on best practice. Participates in determining and evaluating the quality of care being delivered to patients. Co-operates in data collection of hospital-wide Quality Activity projects and Clinical Indicators. Provide sensitive management of the reception area, dealing with patients and other stakeholders who inquire about the service and welcoming patients who come for appointments. Manage the telephone lines and sensitively handle telephone calls from patients Answer all incoming calls. Place ISD, STD and Mobile calls. Ensure that the telephone system is maintained Process patient registration forms Enter patient data into IBA for all admissions Liaise with Health Funding team and Front Office Manager regarding any amendments to Health Fund contracts within WebPAS You will provide sensitive management of the reception area, dealing with patients and other stakeholders who inquire about the service and welcoming patients who come for appointments. Well-developed organisational skills, with an ability to manage your own workflow and cope with competing demands. To succeed you will have advanced skills and knowledge with a range of computer packages, particularly the Microsoft Office suite. Demonstrated ability and commitment to maintaining confidentiality, sound analytical and report writing skills and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well within a team environment.
