Why this role matters
The Salvation Army Australia’s Family Violence Stream provides a wide range of services around the country to support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer refuge, children’s and parenting services, counselling, support, men’s programs, accommodation and advice to women and children who are experiencing, or who have experienced, family violence.
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Administration Assistant to support the day-to-day business operations of the NSW Family Violence programs and Samaritan House financial support.
Reporting to the NSW State Manager this is a Full-Time, 12 month Max Term contract based in Redfern, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 3.

You will successfully

  • Work to the requirements of the State Manager and Program Managers in undertaking general office administration and budget processing tasks.
  • Work in conjunction with the National Finance Team to ensure that all expenditure and procurement is correctly coded, approved and invoices processed.
  • Maintain current bank accounts, prepare invoices, journals, and other relevant documents in relation to provide support to the program managers.
  • Maintain quality systems.
  • Ensure IT resources are available for new starters and assist with IT inductions.
  • Work within Work Health and Safety legislation.
  • Take minutes of leadership team meetings monthly
  • Screen incoming calls and take appropriate actions as required to manage enquiries effectively
  • Maintain appropriate records for shared organisational resources including room bookings, equipment, and vehicles.

You will have

  • A NSW Working with Children Check.
  • NSW Driver Licence
  • Relevant Business qualification such as Certificate IV or Diploma in Business Administration and/or Accounting (desired).
  • Demonstrated experience in administration responsibilities.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise and build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail with proven ability to maintain confidentiality of service users and professionally handle sensitive data and information.
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills with a proven ability to clarify roles and responsibilities of self and team members whilst monitor task completion to ensure objectives and priorities are met
  • A high level of knowledge of administration specific skills, e.g. Word, Excel, IT, finance management, security management.
  • Knowledge of work health and safety responsibilities and commitment to performing duties in a safe manner to ensure safety of self and others .
