We are seeking an experienced Information Officer to join a public sector organisation for an initial 6-month contract.
Working within a regulatory and compliance environment, this role will provide accurate information and advice to a broad range of stakeholders, undertake research and analysis, maintain information within a case management system, and support investigation, audit and education activities.
This opportunity would suit someone with experience working in government, regulation, licensing, compliance, investigations or a similar legislative environment, who is confident interpreting legislation and communicating complex information clearly to stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing accurate and relevant information to stakeholders regarding regulatory and licensing requirements
- Interpreting and applying relevant legislation, policies and procedures
- Responding to stakeholder enquiries via telephone and written correspondence
- Undertaking research and analysis of complex matters and preparing appropriate responses and information papers
- Assisting with case investigations, audits and stakeholder education activities
- Recording and maintaining stakeholder and case information within a case management system
- Interrogating data and assisting with statistical reporting on compliance matters
- Delivering a timely, professional and high-quality client service
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across business processes
The position description places particular emphasis on legislation interpretation, stakeholder communication, research and analysis, investigation/audit support and accurate case-management records.
About you
To be successful, you will ideally demonstrate:
- Experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulation or policy
- Previous experience within a regulatory, compliance, licensing, investigations or government environment
- Strong written communication skills, including preparing correspondence and information for stakeholders
- Confident verbal communication and client service skills, including managing enquiries by telephone
- Strong research, analysis and problem-solving capability
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with limited supervision
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively within a small collaborative team
- Experience using a case management or CRM system
- Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be advantageous but is not essential.
