ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking motivated and organised Administration Officers to join our friendly team at Cairns Private Hospital. With multiple permanent full-time opportunities available, this role is ideal for professionals who thrive in a busy environment and enjoy working with people.
As an Administration Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our hospital services. From welcoming patients and supporting their admission journey, to coordinating theatre bookings, processing accounts, and assisting with general enquiries, you’ll be the friendly face and reliable support that helps patients and staff every day.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Greeting patients and families and managing the admission and discharge process.
  • Handling phone calls and responding to enquiries from patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Preparing and maintaining patient documentation and clinical notes.
  • Supporting accounts payable/receivable, cash handling, and banking functions.

You’ll bring to the role:

  • Previous administration experience, ideally in healthcare or a customer-focused setting.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional manner.
  • A collaborative mindset and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
  • Prior experience in medical reception or as a ward clerk (highly regarded)
