Description

Administration Officer – Mental Health

Avive is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Administration Officer to grow with us.

Avive is a clinician-led, trauma-informed private mental health provider, designed differently from day one. Our purpose-built environments, innovative technology and collaborative way of working are all focused on creating a better experience for our patients, their families and our people.

Our Mornington Peninsula hospital is firmly established and continuing to grow. As our team and services expand, we’re looking for an experienced Administration Officer who enjoys variety and being at the centre of a busy healthcare environment.

This is a diverse role working across hospital reception and admissions, private practice reception, patient administration, billing and data entry. You don’t necessarily need to come from mental health – if you’re organised, approachable, accurate and confident working with people, we’d love to hear from you.

Why join Avive?

  • Enjoy genuine variety – work across hospital and specialist practice administration, rather than being limited to one function.
  • Be part of work that matters – your contribution helps create a welcoming, organised and supportive experience for patients and families.
  • Build your healthcare administration experience – develop your skills across patient coordination, billing, admissions and data management.
  • Join a collaborative team – work alongside administration colleagues, psychiatrists, nurses, allied health professionals and hospital leaders.
  • Have a voice as we grow – we value people who contribute ideas and help us continually improve.

About the role

As an Administration Officer, you’ll provide support across our hospital and private specialist practice. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Hospital reception and assisting with patient admissions
  • Private practice reception and patient enquiries
  • Managing doctor lists, patient bookings, rescheduling, telephone enquiries and messages
  • Patient and outpatient billing, including Medicare, WorkCover, DVA and TAC
  • Accounts and general administration
  • Discharge summaries, CORAS data entry, and maintaining accurate patient records

You’ll work closely with our clinical and support teams to provide professional, responsive and accurate administration while helping keep our hospital and specialist services running smoothly.

What you bring

  • Previous administration, reception or customer service experience
  • Strong organisation, attention to detail and data-entry accuracy
  • Warm, professional communication and confidence dealing with patients
  • Confidence with technology and learning new systems
  • A flexible, collaborative approach and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Healthcare, hospital or private practice experience is highly regarded, but not essential
  • Experience with Medicare, WorkCover, DVA or TAC billing will also be highly regarded
  • A current Police Check, or willingness to obtain one

Ready to be part of something different?

If you’re an experienced administrator who enjoys variety, responsibility and being part of a team where the details matter, we’d love to hear from you.

  • Apply now via SEEK and bring your skills to the Avive Mornington Peninsula team.
