Description
Hi there, thanks for stopping by. We're glad to have gotten your attention, but we'll be thrilled when you apply. We're on the hunt for a new member of our team. We're eager to find someone who is passionate about what they do, and is excited for a new journey with our fantastic firm. About Carbon. We’re not your average professional services firm. Carbon launched in 2014 with the goal to shake up the industry and change the level of service that small and medium business owners received. We combine all the core business services in the one place (from accounting to bookkeeping to finance to insurance and everything in between), bringing together some of the best experts in the industry so our clients can focus on doing more of what they love. What it means to be a Carbonite. Our Carbonites are our best asset, and we’ve grown from a small team of 13 people in a single office in Perth to over 300 Carbonites nationwide, with offices in multiple states. A key element in our plan of world domination is having the best people possible to help us along the way. This is where you come in.   As our next Carbonite, you’ll be joining a team at multiple levels. You’ll be part of a team in your office, working with other talented people such as yourself. You’ll also be joining our national ranks, meaning you can easily tap into a knowledge base for a tricky question or to bounce ideas off of for the next team activity. Empowering our Carbonites is a big part of our mission and vision, so we focus on helping our Carbonites learn and grow, developing their careers in the direction that they want to go in. We have 2 new vacancies available due to growth: 1. Receptionist 2. Team Administrator - Accounting & Tax Without our Admin team to keep the wheels turning and be the first friendly face our clients see when they stop by, our office is incomplete. These roles wears many hats, so use your cover letter to help us understand your skills, experience and what makes you, you. Don’t be afraid to introduce yourself in a way that stands out! You’ll bring great customer service, strong communication skills and confidence using technology such as phone systems, Microsoft Word, Teams and Zoom. Organisation and time management are essential, as you’ll play a central role in keeping the office and team on track. Alongside front-of-house responsibilities, you’ll support our Accounting & Tax team with client onboarding, compliance processes and general practice administration. You’ll gain exposure to the flow of accounting work and become an integral part of delivering a seamless client experience. At Carbon, we often hold team activities and events, and you’ll help bring these to life. If you’ve got event coordination experience, that’s a bonus. If not, we’ll support you to grow into it. We're looking for someone with:  * Experience in a busy reception position - handling multiple phone calls at once * Communicating with clients; scheduling meetings, managing inquiries and assisting with billing * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written * Ability to work autonomously and in a busy and fast paced environment * Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications * A positive and proactive mindset * High attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality Experience working within an accounting or financial services environment would be highly regarded, particularly an understanding of tax returns, the ATO, creation of proposals and engagement letters, and navigation of Xero. Receptionist: * Greeting clients and managing front-of-house * Answering and directing phone calls * Coordinating meeting rooms and client refreshments * Managing calendars and booking appointments * Ordering office supplies and managing stock * Supporting team events and general office organisation Team Administrator * Coordinate new client onboarding, including ethical clearance * Prepare proposals, engagement letters and compliance documentation * Assist with the tax return lodgment program and ATO submissions * Set up and manage compliance jobs and workflows * Compile client financial and tax documentation for review and signature * Maintain accurate client records and database integrity * Follow up clients for outstanding information or payments * Assist with billing and general administrative support We aspire to create a culture in every office where our people are motivated and supported to achieve their goals. With that in mind, we know what is important to each person will vary, so here are a few things we offer: * Flexible working arrangements - We are flexible on start/stop times * Learning and development opportunities driven by you: Want to focus your skills in a certain area, or explore something new with training? Great, let’s do it. We have internal and external training options. * Social activities to suit different people: Regular team events, office events, community giveback opportunities, etc. etc. * And, of course, we also offer some great benefits like discounts, cashbacks, rewards, and initiatives to support wellness. Ready to apply?  Great, we'd love to hear from you. Keep in mind that the desired skills and experience we listed above are all important components to this role, but that doesn't mean you need to tick every box to apply! We're dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and exciting team, so even if your past experience doesn't perfectly align with everything listed but you're passionate about this role and joining our firm, apply anyways.   * Show us what you’ve got (aka send through your resume) * Tell us why we'd be a great fit: 1. Write a cover letter helping us to get to know you - bonus points if you make it stand out. Even better, mix it up and do something more creative than the traditional cover letter! (Not required, just an idea). 2. Give us an insight into who you are – help us understand what motivates you, what you’re passionate about. At Carbon, we know we’re at our best when we look out for one another; prioritise respect, fairness, development and wellbeing; foster an inclusive culture and embrace diversity in all forms. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment regardless of their background, experience, identity, ability or thinking style, and if you need assistance or an accommodation during the application process for accessibility reasons this is available upon request.
