Primary objective
To provide a high level of administrative support and assistance to the Offender Services and Programs unit at the Darwin
Correctional Centre and Head Office whilst ensuring all prisoner information is managed and maintained in accordance with
the Agency’s policies and legislative requirements.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide high-quality administrative support to the Manager and the Offender Services and Programs unit including the
preparation of program resources, reference materials and general correspondence as required.
2. Manage the Offender Services and Programs resources and psychometric testing library.
3. Assist Offender Services and Programs staff in the management of waitlists within the Integrated Offender Management
System.
4. Liaise with the other staff for Program bookings.
5. Create, maintain and archive files.
6. Order prisoner criminal histories and sentencing remarks as requested.
7. Coordinate Offender Services and Programs staff meetings and other scheduled events in a timely and efficient manner.
8. Collect and collate statistics on a monthly basis, or as required.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Relevant administrative training and experience including knowledge and understanding of administrative practices and
procedures and a working knowledge of computer, electronic media, and software package applications.
2. Interpersonal skills of a high order especially the ability to communicate effectively and interact with clients, including
Aboriginal Australians as well as other culturally diverse groups.
3. Demonstrated high-level oral and written communication skills.
4. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and cooperatively as a team member.
5. Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a busy work environment and across a broad range of administrative
functions, including the ability to manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
Desirable
1. Experience working within a correctional facility.

The Department of the Attorney-General and Justice (NT Correctional Services Division) has a Smoke Free Policy. Staff are
