PART-TIME ADMINISTRATIVE AND CLINICAL ASSISTANT

We are a private group medical practice located in Toronto specializing in obesity medicine. Currently, we are looking for an administrative and clinical assistant to join our team immediately on a casual/part-time basis. The candidate will be required to work Saturdays and additional shifts during the remainder of the week based on availability of other staff. The successful candidate will be responsible, respectful, and punctual, and possess computer literacy and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Greeting patients and visitors
  • Registering patients
  • Managing patient appointments and physician schedules in-person, over the telephone, and over e-mail
  • Managing (which include, are but not limited to, faxing, mailing, scanning, and electronically filing) documents such as laboratory results
  • Performing basic clinical tasks, such as assessing height, weight, and blood pressure
  • Performing basic clinical calculations, such as calculating the body mass index (BMI)
  • Entering clinical measurements in an electronic medical record system (EMR)
  • Managing patient flow in a busy office
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned, such as assisting with medical plan billing

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Medical administration experience and training will be a strong asset
  • No criminal record
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English. Additional language abilities will be an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to do basic arithmetic
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating system, word-processing applications, and e-mail applications. Prior experience using an electronic medical record system (EMR), especially Accuro, will be an asset
