UNIT/ PROJECT DESCRIPTION
General Description Responsible for providing administrative support for an academic program or department. Plans and coordinates a variety of academic program or department events and activities and is also accountable for monitoring the graduate program budget and forecasting financial gains and shortfalls. Performs the duties of the position in accordance with established policies, procedures, and calendar of events. Responsible for ensuring adherence to quality standards and procedures for short-term staffPsychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour (PNB) seeks a part time Graduate Administrative Assistant to provide support for our Research & Clinical Training program. We have over 30 core faculty and 30 more associate faculty members from across campus associated with PNB. Our graduate program is strongly research-oriented. Our strong collegial environment supports scientific interactions among faculty and students, and fosters interdisciplinary work, with students often undertaking research projects with more than one faculty member.
The Graduate Administrative Assistant position is responsible for efficiently developing, implementing and maintaining all aspects of the operations and promotion of the department’s graduate program.
Some major responsibilities include processing graduate student applications and registrations, graduate student examination grades, timetabling and scheduling courses, Masters and PhD defenses, and graduate scholarship applications; co-ordinating special events, committee meetings, calendar and curriculum changes/conflicts; processing various financial activities such as journal entries, cheque requisitions, non-PO vouchers, travel and expense reports, p-card reconilations and purchasing orders; processing payroll, assisting with IQAP and departmental review processes; updating the PNB graduate website and social media presence, including recruiting activities.
