Position Summary: Aldevra is currently seeking a qualified Administrative Assistant to support the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Financial Litigation Unit in Philadelphia, PA. Requirements:

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to obtain a DOJ PIV card or building access badge.
    This position requires passing an extensive background check.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required with at least 2 years’ experience in reception and clerical support.
  • The work requires knowledge of the processes, procedures, and practices of support activities in conjunction with knowledge of office skills and an ability to apply these skills to increase the effectiveness of the office.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and telephone manner
  • Excellent and accurate written communication
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel are required.
  • Excellent attention to detail; accurate data entry
  • Customer Focused and team-oriented work ethic
  • Able to multi-task efficiently and accurately, focusing on quality

Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide assistance to Financial Litigation staff in collection of criminal and civil debts owed to the United States and victims of crime.
  • Assist Financial Litigation staff in providing technical legal assistance work involving preparation and filing of legal documents, preparation and mailing of correspondence, reviewing claims and supporting documentation, obtaining additional data as needed, determining the adequacy of claims, initiating contacts with debtors.
  • Assist Financial Litigation staff in preparing and presenting statistical data and reports for use by the supervisor for management purposes.
  • Assist in a variety of administrative matters; opening and maintaining debtor files; analyzing claims to determine type of indebtedness to record and maintain proper debtor and account information
  • Maintaining a wide variety of financial or other records (stored manually and electronically)
  • Verifying statistical reports for accuracy and completeness; compiling information
  • Handling/adjusting complaints; and assisting with collection cases.
  • Use knowledge of Federal Debt Collections Procedures Act, Mandatory Victims’ Restitution Act, and other applicable federal and state law to complete assignments. Requires use of PEGA and Opera computer databases.
  • All other duties as assigned.
