Job Details Job Location: Dallas Campus - Dallas, TX 75204 Position Type: Full Time Hourly Non Exempt Salary Range: $20.00 - $23.00 Hourly Job Category: On Campus Job Summary The Administrative Assistant for the Global Institute serves as the office assistant for the Director of Free Online Education and the customer service coordinator for DTS Free Online Education. They will help in several areas related to the Free Online Courses including: responding to student questions, updating and maintaining course content online, coordinating with Media Productions and other departments for course creation, and any other administrative tasks related to maintaining the Free Online Courses. They will work with the Director of Free Online Education to design and implement new methods and strategies for best serving the Free Online Course students in their educational pursuits. This position will also help in updating the social media accounts for DTS Free Online Education. Duties/Responsibilities Standard front office work (email, answering phones, etc.) Learning details about the Global Institute to answer internal and external questions about programs and offerings Answering emails using pre-written boilerplates with editing to personal needs Answer comments and messages from other channels from Free Course students (Facebook, live chat, etc.) Direct incoming queries to other departments Maintain/upload content to the Free Course site(s) Coordinate with other departments to distribute content related to the Free Online Courses (ex – Media Productions for content, Advancement for scheduling) Work with Director of Free Online Education to brainstorm and execute new educational initiatives within the Free Online Education platform Qualifications Patience – these students have real needs and are sometimes difficult to work with Communicate clearly and regularly with staff/faculty Communicate clearly, regularly, and patiently with Free Online Course students Must be detail oriented and able to readily follow-up on tasks Understand internal communication tools like Outlook and Microsoft Teams Understand / willing to learn web tools like WordPress and Hubspot Technical expertise ­to troubleshoot basic computer issues Social Media Experience – regular Facebook posts, responding to commenters in a timely and professional manner, uploading content to YouTube and/or Microsoft Stream Detail oriented person able to follow and develop complex processes Organized and capable of finding creative ways optimize tasks Willingness to learn and grow into additional responsibilities Honest, authentic, and willingness to wrestle with corporate complexity Ability to critique educational content and offer constructive, creative ideas to update current content and offer new content Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. At least two years related experience required. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
