REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
3 or more years of professional administrative experience
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, Google, and calendar management
Experience with Zoom and other virtual meeting platforms
Exceptional communication skills, including oral and written, professional emails, and documentation notes
Ability and eagerness to learn from others
Ability to work flexible hours, up to 29 hours per week, mainly Monday, Wednesday & Friday
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU

This position reports to the Business Manager and will work with other faculty/staff on special projects, contributing to assigned research and organization projects related to the work of the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation (OVPRI). Assisting with invoice database, and providing administrative support for project management, event planning, and general office needs, responsible for managing the front desk and professionally greeting visitors. including receiving, sorting, and delivering mail and packages throughout the office. Duties include but are not limited to maintaining and editing project documents and files, preparing for and managing meeting logistics, calendar management, typing and data entry, drafting correspondence, small event management projects, and other assigned administrative tasks. This professional will also engage with OVPRI stakeholders independently as assigned, set-up events, and provide support to senior leadership and assistance with special projects when needed. The position requires in-office attendance on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.Also, some remote work is approved.
