Description

Provides confidential administrative support to a Manager(s) and relevant department. This position involves
preparation of confidential documents including but not limited to non-routine correspondence, memoranda, letters,
reports and more. This position involves being highly organized, flexible, with good communication and people skills.
This position may involve receiving visitors, screening calls, reviewing incoming correspondence. In addition, is
responsible for arranging meetings, preparation of meeting materials and minute taking, arranging travel plans and
submitting expense claims. Reporting to the Associate Chief Medical officer-RHA Bed Doctor, the Administrative
Assistant II is responsible for providing administrative support to Medical Staff, the patient flow hub and the Medical
Services portfolio. As part of patient flow hub, responsibilities will include but not limited to supporting the development
of capacity management protocol, coordinating case management and ensuring integration of patient flow hub to
Clinical Advisory Council and Medical Advisory Council.
The incumbent must fulfill the requirements of the Criminal Records/Vulnerable Person, Child Abuse Registry check and
Adult Abuse Registry check, and adhere to all Northern Health Region policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of post-secondary education in office administration through a business school or college

(combinations of education and experience may be considered)

  • Completion of a recognized Medical Terminology course an asset
  • Valid Manitoba Class V driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel the region year round
  • Two (2) years’ directly related experience an asset
  • Thorough knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Basic computer problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records, specifically Accuro, an asset
  • Knowledge of PHIA legislation
  • Knowledge of Outlook Scheduling System an asset
  • Accurate word processing at 50 words per minute (typing test will be required)
  • Satisfactory employment record required
  • Successful candidate subject to provide security checks in accordance with Security Checks for Employment
