Employment Classification: Non-exempt, part-time up to 24 hours a week.
Hours: General hours will be Monday to Friday, 9 am to 2 pm. Flexibility is available, and occasional night or weekend work may be required.
Hourly Rate: $20 - $24, commensurate with experience.
Work Location: In-office at the Lake Hopatcong Foundation, 125 Landing Road, Landing, NJ.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in communications and data entry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace
  • Ability to manage time well and handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  • Prior experience in an administrative or clerical role preferred
  • Familiarity with CRM databases (e.g., eTapestry, Salesforce, or similar) a plus
  • Comfort working with website and email platforms such as WordPress, Expression Engine, and MailChimp

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

The Lake Hopatcong Foundation is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and reliable Part-Time Administrative Assistant to help ensure the smooth operation of our nonprofit office. This role involves general administrative support, data entry in our CRM system (eTapestry), and assistance with the compilation and distribution of our weekly e-newsletter. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who values mission-driven work and demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communications Support

  • Upload and format blog posts with images; occasionally write or edit posts as needed
  • Create the weekly e-newsletter in MailChimp
  • Maintain the community calendar on the website
  • Archive blogs, print pieces, and online news articles
  • Other communications assistance as needed

Office Support

  • Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, mail handling, and supply inventory management
  • Serve as a welcoming presence in the office and assist with incoming calls and general inquiries
  • Other duties as assigned by the executive director

Data Management

  • Accurately input and maintain records in the eTapestry CRM system
  • Assist with generating reports and mailing lists
  • Coordinate Sign-up Genius registration pages with event/program staff
  • Other development assistance as needed
