About Us:
The Longwood Medical Area Child Care Center (LMACCC) provides a warm, inclusive, and high-quality early education environment for young children. We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Administrative Assistant to support the Director in daily operations, ensuring the center continues to meet the highest standards of care and compliance.
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director, the Administrative Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the center’s operations, record-keeping, and compliance with Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) regulations. This position also directly supervises the Float Teacher and assists with staff coordination, enrollment, and center communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the Float Teacher through observations, meetings, and reviews.
  • Conduct reference checks and assist with the hiring process.
  • Open/close the Center and complete daily safety checks.
  • Maintain child, staff, and volunteer files in accordance with EEC regulations.
  • Track and report weekly attendance.
  • Manage ordering and inventory of food, supplies, and classroom materials.
  • Greet families, answer phones, and direct inquiries.
  • Schedule waitlist tours, maintain accurate records, and provide support to prospective families.
  • Update and generate child records and reports.
  • Coordinate staff training (CPR/First Aid) and scheduling.
  • Support communications, reminders, and event planning.

Secondary Duties:

  • Assist the Director with EEC licensing compliance.
  • Support enrollment and onboarding of new staff.
  • Provide classroom coverage as needed.
  • Accept sick calls and coordinate staff coverage with leadership.

Qualifications:

  • EEC Lead Teacher certified in all classrooms, with DII certification.:
  • Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in early childhood education or a related field.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work flexible hours between 6:30 a.m. and close (Monday–Friday).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both in person and over the phone.
  • Sound judgment and ability to make decisions regarding child health and safety.
  • Reliable, proactive, and collaborative team member.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly rate: $24.50–$26.50 per hour
