Looking for a dynamic career in a fast paced environment? St. Lawrence Optometry is looking to fill a position in our growing company.

We are looking for an administrative assistant with excellent customer service skills. Duties include:

  • reception tasks including greeting patients, answering phones and using our medical record system to book appointments etc.
  • processing payments, insurance billings and OHIP submissions
  • pretesting patients (conducting preliminary testing on patients before seeing the Optometrists)
  • teaching contact lens insertion & removal to patients
  • ordering and verifying contact lens orders
  • consulting with our Optometrists as to patient needs

We strive to cross train our staff in many aspects of the office so you may also have roles in:

  • minor spectacle frame repairs
  • spectacle frame selection
  • diagnostic testing including visual fields and OCTs

Experience is preferred however we are looking for someone who could work well with our team; the right applicant would be trained on the job. Ample computer skills, exceptional customer service and the ability to multitask and “self start” is a must. You will be dealling with the public consistently day-to-day.
We have been a part of the Kingston community for 50 years as of 2019 and have grown to 2 clinics. This is a fast paced environment that will require an easygoing yet eager personality to be successful in the role. We require a minimum 30 hrs per week, but you must be flexible as the role increases. Some early evening and Saturday hours would be involved; travel between 2 office locations likely (however not usually within the same day). Candidates can expect a progressive career in the industry. We pride ourselves on our family like atmosphere.
