Description

Penrickton Center for Blind Children is now hiring a full-time, hard working and motivated administrative assistant for our unique non-profit agency serving blind, special needs children ages 1-12 years. The ideal candidate should possess a strong work ethic, maintain confidentiality, be detail oriented, demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills, organizational skills, and have the ability to complete tasks despite interruptions from both telephone and walk-in visitors. Strong computer skills and proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook required. Excellent writing and editing skills with a keen eye for details needed. Knowledge of donor management software and social media platforms helpful. Experience or interest in fundraising, donor relations and nonprofit development a plus. Pay is commensurate with experience.

Job duties and responsibilities include:

  • Provide administrative support to leadership and program teams
  • Answering telephones and greeting guests
  • Receiving, sorting and processing mail including account & receipt of daily contributions
  • Database management
  • Drafting and mailing written/email correspondence
  • Merging data bases to produce mailings
  • Support and prepare for fundraising events
  • Maintain appropriate confidential records
  • Light bookkeeping
  • Filing
  • Coordination of office services
  • Coordination of social media presence
  • Cultivate and strengthen donor relationships through thoughtful outreach/correspondence
  • Draft, edit, develop and proofread communications, reports, and donor materials

Full Time Position Available: Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent degree required
  • Be free from felony conviction & willing to complete finger print and background screening
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Able to lift 40 lbs

Knowledge - Skills - Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills as well as active listening
  • Ability to provide excellent customer and personal service
  • Proficient with basic office equipment, computers, and computer applications including Microsoft products
  • Possess strong time management skills and ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, show extreme resourcefulness and problem solving skills

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
