Shenandoah University’s School of Nursing is accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant. This position is a full-time, benefited position located in Winchester. VA
The administrative assistant for the School of Nursing (SON) provides support to the Dean, Associate Deans, Faculty, and Students.

Position responsibilities include the following:

  • Supports the Dean, Associate Deans, faculty, staff, and students
  • Communicates professionally with faculty, staff, and all members of the University Community
  • Updates and approves student information in EXXAT/Prism
  • Monitors student validation of requirements in EXXAT/Prism and communicates any noncompliance issues with the Undergraduate Clinical Coordinator and Associate Dean
  • Runs report in EXXAT/Prism as needed and requested
  • Maintains Nursing Advising Spreadsheet and assigns and communicates updates with both the students and SON faculty
  • Coordinates prospective student and group tours. (ex. Admissions First Year Days, etc.)
  • Creates Nursing Faculty Committee Assignments in collaboration with the Nursing Dean
  • Processes Graduation Clearances
  • Orders office and lab supplies as needed
  • Schedules rooms for events and meetings
  • Organizes the Pinning and Hooding Ceremony and other activities as needed (ex., Blessing of the Hands, etc.) in collaboration with SON staff and the Student Affairs Committee
  • Supports the SON by providing committee meeting minutes and administrative assistance
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate work that reflects the mission, vision, and philosophy of the University and SON
  • Strong detailed-oriented skills
  • Demonstrate work that reflects mature, professional, goal-oriented actions with flexibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience with Gmail, Google, Canvas Organizations, and Spreadsheets preferred
