Description St. Mary Catholic Church in Independence, MO is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of the parish office. This position wil be responsible for a full range of administrative and secretarial duties for members of the staff and parish. This position is part-time working 15 hours a week and reports to the Pastor. Essential Duties: Assist with general office duties, such as answering the telephone, process incoming and out going mail, etc. General filing. Assist the Pastor in administrative areas as needed. Provide administrative support for new hires and existing staff. Ensure paperwork is complete for new hires and existing staff. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Set priorities and organize work effectively and efficienctly. Ability to multitask and work independently in a busy environment. Handle records and sensitive issues with confidentiality, empathy amd compassion. Demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrate high attention to detail and accuracy. Promote a sense of collaboration and teamwork. Requirements: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic office technology. Previous experience as an Administrative Assistant/Secretary. Practicing Catholic with ethical standards, personal integrity, and conduct consistent with the morals and teachings of the Catholic Church.
