Description Position: Administrative Assistant Reports To: Pastor Position Summary St. Therese Catholic Church in North Kansas City, Missouri is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide comprehensive secretarial and office support to parish staff, helping advance the parish’s mission of serving Christ and His Church. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a welcoming, service-oriented approach to parishioners, staff, and volunteers, reflecting a spirit of hospitality and Christian charity. This is a full-time position averaging 35 hours per week. Essential Duties Maintain the parish census and all office record-keeping systems, including sacramental records and clergy suitability files Manage parish facility scheduling and maintain the parish calendar Oversee inventory of office equipment, supplies, and liturgical items Coordinate and support parish volunteers and their various activities Assist with planning and execution of parish events, gatherings, and hospitality activities (e.g., coffee and donuts, staff events) Prepare funeral programs and process sacramental record requests Process and maintain godparent and confirmation sponsor documentation Proofread and prepare documents and correspondence as requested Support administrative reporting and ensure proper segregation of financial duties Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse individuals in various situations Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and charitable approach Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential or sensitive information Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines Proficient in basic computer applications and office systems Qualifications Previous administrative experience required High level of professionalism and commitment to supporting the parish mission Practicing Catholic with ethical standards, personal integrity, and conduct consistent with the morals and teachings of the Catholic Church.
