QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate and two years of training beyond high school or five years of experience in this job category. Minimum typing skill of 45 wpm. Working knowledge of PC applications (word processing, database, and spreadsheet). Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

Hand and finger dexterity for accurate input and output of computer data
Auditory acuity at a level to hear telephone conversations, customer questions and concerns, and supervisor vocalized instructions
Visual acuity to read and analyze the computer screen, documents, and correspondence
Must be able to express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required.
Must hold a current North Carolina Notary License.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as administrative secretary for the Associate Superintendent for Human Resources and prepares administrative correspondence.
  • Processes all leave of absence requests for certified or classified employees.
  • Processes notifications to employees who have been transferred to other positions/schools.
  • Processes resignations for certified and classified employees.
  • Maintains the keys/key fob process
  • Responsible for setting up new HR Employees to include emails, computers, and access to programs
  • Responsible for placing work orders for the HR building
  • Prepares Personnel Board Book each month for approval by the Board of Education
  • Processes Utility Deposit Waivers and other forms
  • Serves as the HR web manager, responsible for the maintenance of all Human Resources web pages and Intranet pages
  • Maintains and manages HR Social Media Pages
  • Create promotion flyers/programs for various events/advertising
  • Responsible for all Print Shop Orders
  • Help with recruiting efforts to include registrations for Teacher Job Fairs, arranging hotel reservations, flight reservations, and reimbursements for recruiters
  • Plan CCS Retirement Celebration to include preparing certificates, reserving a location, arrangements for food, and retirement gifts
  • Maintains/updates DPI EDDIE system
  • Maintains and updates TalentEd Records
  • Maintains and schedules HR Calendars and conference room reservations
  • Prepares and helps maintain HR Budget spreadsheets
  • Complete and process check requests and purchase orders
  • Notarizes Initial Retirement Application Forms and other forms
  • Prepares correspondence on behalf of the Associate Superintendent of Human Resources
  • Opens and distributes mail.
  • Prepares Administrative Contracts with approval date by the Board of EducationServes as a team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing fairness.
