Description

The City of Sealy is seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of Administrative Assistant I–III (Utility Billing). Under the general supervision of the Administrative Services Manager and Director of Finance, this position is responsible for performing and coordinating utility billing operations, including but not limited to: maintaining billing schedules, preparing monthly utility billings, overseeing delinquent accounts and payment arrangements, monitoring utility records related to meters and service requests, conducting complex analysis of utility billing accounts, and preparing financial reports. The position also provides direct customer service at the counter, via phone, and through email, serving as the primary liaison between the City and its utility customers. Additional responsibilities include cash handling, balancing daily deposits, researching and resolving billing issues, and assisting management with special projects. Minimum qualifications include an Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field, with at least two (2) years of customer service experience and three (3) years of responsible accounting experience (including accounts receivable/payable, cashiering, payroll, and financial record keeping). Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Knowledge of utility billing practices, meters and meter maintenance, and Incode software, is preferred. Candidates must possess a valid Texas Class C driver’s license and have the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and MVR check. Hourly pay range: $18.00-$28.84.
