POSITION SUMMARY

The Administrative Assistant performs a variety of general administrative/clerical tasks

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Prior front office experience in the medical/dental industry preferred
  • Strong MS Office experience (Excel and Word)
  • Previous experience with dental software (Eagle Soft, Dentrix, QSI, or similar)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills
  • Ability to maintain outgoing, friendly attitude with patients and coworkers
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and able to multitask
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

Responsibilities
  • Logs and tracks verbal or written member grievances and appeals
  • Process corporate accounts receivable adjustments in accordance with the policies and procedures for past due accounts and erroneous balances
  • Assist regional managers with reporting and ad-hoc queries as to the offices with highest uncollectible amounts as well as trends and potential training opportunities
  • Answer inbound calls from patients on account queries
  • Process inter-office transfers between patient accounts and/or dental offices
  • Work with the field billers on educating them on repetitive errors and/or complex billing processes
  • As needed posting/adjusting of certain payments received from insurance carriers and/or patients
  • Assist the AR team in ad-hoc month end reports and projects
