OVERVIEW

The Learning Disabilities Association of Peel Region (LDAPR) is seeking a detail-oriented, super-organized, energetic Administrative/Communications Coordinator to join our team. This role is essential in supporting our work in serving neurodiverse youth and children and their families in Peel Region. You are the person who never misses a bill payment, has everything you need to know at the touch of your fingertips, maintains an impeccable calendar and is on time for every meeting! You are an independent worker with great people skills, are a whiz at admin tasks and enjoy a busy, mission-driven office environment. The Administrative/Communications Coordinator role is vital to the smooth, efficient functioning of our organization and key to our success in serving our community of young people with learning differences and their families.

SKILLS

· Training/education in office management/communications or equivalent professional experience required
· Incredibly well organized and responsible, with keen attention to detail
· A people person with friendly, engaging communication skills
· Excellent office management skills that create a smooth work environment for all
· Strong independent work ethic along with a good team attitude
· Great computer skills with all basic software in Microsoft Office
· Confident in posting to Instagram and Facebook and tracking metrics
· Confident with using Squarespace to update web site and track visitor metrics
· Good with tracking and managing invoices, expenses
· Strong basic event management skills – creating and monitoring online invites, booking entertainment and other service support
· Natural problem solver
· Commitment to supporting neurodiverse children and working in a nonprofit setting
· Fundraising skills and experience are a huge asset
Please note that strong English skills, both written and spoken, are required for this position.
Hours: This is a full-time position, 35 hours/ week with typical office hours of 9-4:30. There will be some need for flexibility in scheduling, with occasional evening or weekend work.
Pay Scale: This full-time position salary is between $41000-$44000/year, based on experience, with 3 weeks of vacation, paid days off over the winter holidays, 8 personal/sick days and a benefits package after 3 months.
Location: This position takes place in-person at LDAPR’s office in Mississauga (second floor of St. Hilary Catholic Elementary School at 5070 Fairwind Drive). There will be occasional travel to our Brampton location.

Responsibilities

· Supports Executive Director in required admin duties, reporting and financial oversight
· Manages client and service provider communications, including phoneandemail enquiries
· Financial management includes tracking of all invoices, ensuring payments have been made
· Communications duties include web site updating (Squarespace), posting on social media channels, creating e-newsletters, print materials and securing earned media
· Reports on social media analytics and other communications data as required
· Assists with event planning and execution
· Tracks and records client participation in events and programs for reporting and planning
· Purchases, receives, and manages office supplies
· Assists in preparation of required reports for Board meetings, funder reports, etc.
· In collaboration with Executive Director and key team members, explores and executes fundraising initiatives as needed
· Participates in strategic planning activities with team
