POSITION OVERVIEW

  • Under the Critical Care Administration portfolio and reporting to the Director of Health Services, Critical Care, the Administrative Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the efficient organization of administrative services for the HSC Adult Critical Care Site, Medical Unit directors, and currently for the SH Specialty lead for Adult Critical Care.
  • Ensures compliance with Shared Health policies and procedures and assists with the creation of schedules and maintaining of calendars for the medical directors listed above.
  • Ensures payroll is submitted and maintained for Critical Care residents, House Medical Officers, Clinical Assistants/Physician Assistants, and Attending physicians.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years recent administrative support experience.

EDUCATION (DEGREE/DIPLOMA/CERTIFICATE)

  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Business Administration diploma/certificate or an equivalent combination of education and working experience.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Proficiency in computerized systems (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) is required. Experience with email and computerized calendars.
  • Requires SAP experience and timekeeping experience.
  • Keyboarding speed of 50 wpm.
  • Workload management experience.
  • Supervisory experience re: orientation to HSC site for new critical care residents and medical staff.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills essential.
  • Ability to prioritize a large workload and independently complete a variety of administrative duties within established deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively contribute to a team environment by maintaining good working relationships with all levels of staff and the general public.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • May require some evening or weekend response for urgent requests.
