ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR - COMMUNITY HOMES FOR OPPORTUNITY (CHO) & CMHA SUPPORTED HOMES (CMHA SH)- FULL-TIME, PERMANENT – BARRIE, ON

The Canadian Mental Health Association, Simcoe County Branch seeks an Administrative Coordinator, in accordance with the Manager CHO and CMHA SH, agency policies, standards, and guidelines, provides administrative oversight to CMHA-SCB owned and managed housing initiatives, including Community Homes for Opportunity (CHO), Gloria House and HART Hub(s). The Administrative Coordinator works closely with CHO Home Operators and leads / landlords of supportive housing initiatives to develop and implement tools and processes to support intakes, oversight and discharges in CMHA-owned and managed housing initiatives. In addition, the Administrative Coordinator is responsible for developing and standardizing all internal communications (e.g., program manuals, support resources for Housing Staff, landlord database, issues tracking) and external communications (template communications for landlords, website information) with approval by Manager CHO and CMHA SH.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum five (5) years combined post-secondary education and project administration and coordination experience in a housing related setting.
  • Must have one of the following:
  • Human Service Worker
  • Social Service Worker
  • A University degree in a human services related field, preferably Social Work.
  • Demonstrated abilities in the above-mentioned areas.
  • Advanced administrative, coordination, writing, and computer skills including comprehensive knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) and other software platforms as required.
  • Strong knowledge of housing and community resources for mental health and addictions in the Simcoe region, particularly in CHO home communities.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario Residential Tenancies Act and experience with Landlord and Tenant Tribunals.
  • Must have access to a vehicle, a valid Ontario driver’s license, and adequate automobile insurance.
  • Fluency in French or another second language would be an asset.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

· Develop and implement all documentation, processes and tools associated with overseeing CMHA SC owned and managed housing initiatives, with a focus on CHO, Gloria House and HART Hub(s).
· In partnership with the Manager of CHO & SH, liaise with CHO Home Operators to track and report on their progress against all program requirements laid out in the Transfer Payment Agreements between CMHA SC and CHO Homes.
· Liaise with external partners to support maintenance and growth of CHO Step Down Model, head leases and other housing initiatives that fall under CMHA owned and managed housing initiatives.
· Work with Finance Department to ensure all client CHO rents are paid including liaising with ODSP as necessary.
· Coordinate intakes for CHO program and CMHA SC owned or managed properties including liaising with applicants, families / caregivers, and community partners at all stages of the process including communication of final decisions.
· Support administration of Gloria House, the HART Hub and other CMHA SC owned or managed housing initiatives including communications to clients, staff (including Facilities Managers) and community partners.
· Liaise with CHO Home Operators and Landlords around client and other home-level issues.
· Liase with the HART Hub Navigation Team surrounding new intakes and administrative coordination with the interdisciplinary care team throughout the client’s housing journey.
· Represent CMHA SC at Landlord and Tenant Board Tribunals as needed.
· Support CMHA staff and clients with coordinating moves e.g., arranging for movers, cleaners, repairs as needed.
· Support Housing Managers in initiating and implementing Housing related projects and new endeavours, including oversight of the housing furniture inventory
· Other tasks as identified by supervisor.
