LH North Ltd. is a leading heavy-civil construction company in Northwestern Ontario, specializing in the design and construction of high-quality infrastructure such as bridges, roads, deep foundations, and underground water systems. The company is now accepting applications for an Administrative Coordinator who meets the following qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completed post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources, Marketing or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Platform (all programs) and accounting software
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced and complex environments, with the capacity to maintain focus, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to apply sound judgement and maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information and documents
  • Strong team ethic while also highly self-motivated and self-directed
  • Experience with HRIS or Payroll Systems software is an asset

Responsibilities

Finance Functions:

  • Gain familiarity with the accounts payable automation system to overlap with the Accounts Manager in payables processing
  • Assist with monthly reconciliation of corporate fuel cards and credit cards
  • Support the Financial Controller with management of the accounting or audit process requirements at year end
  • Develop and utilize spreadsheets, databases and other computer applications to assist with expense tracking, project management and accounts receivable invoicing
  • Assist with asset tracking and listing maintenance for corporate assets, including additions and disposals
  • Book-keeping and data entry as required
  • General filing of accounts payable and accounts receivable documentation

Payroll Functions:

  • Become knowledgeable on performing payroll and ROE processing functions to overlap with the Payroll Administrator as needed
  • Assist with verification and reconciliation of payroll on a biweekly basis
  • Support the Payroll Administrator with preparation of payroll reports for reconciliation and statistical purposes
  • Review and preparation of employee expense claims and other allowances
  • Assist with maintenance of employee records and files

Administrative and HR Functions:

  • Answer and direct incoming calls and respond to inquiries as required
  • Provide HR support throughout recruitment and selection processes, including but not limited to job postings, participation in interview and orientation processes, offer of employment letters and contracts
  • Coordinate and participate in job fairs or trade shows as required
  • Assist with the development and formatting of corporate policies and employee handbooks
  • Support the management team with administrative tasks as required
