Description
Overview Administrative Legal Assistant – Workers' Compensation Location: Fully Remote – Florida Residents Only | Type: Full-Time | Division: Workers' Compensation | Availability: Immediate About the Role Are you a sharp, detail-driven legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment — and wants the flexibility of working from anywhere in Florida? We're looking for an Administrative Legal Assistant to serve as the right hand to a Partner in our Workers' Compensation practice. This is not a background role. You'll be at the center of a high-volume practice — managing deadlines, coordinating complex schedules, producing critical legal documents, and serving as a key liaison between internal teams and external counsel. The position is structured as approximately 50% billable legal work and 50% administrative support, meaning your days are varied, substantive, and directly tied to client outcomes. Essential Functions Manage and maintain the Partner's calendar, proactively anticipating scheduling conflicts and priorities Schedule and coordinate hearings, depositions, mediations, and field inspections across multiple parties Liaise professionally with opposing and outside counsel, clients, mediators, and vendors Draft correspondence, legal documents, and case materials with accuracy and rigorous attention to detail Calendar and track all deadlines, hearings, depositions, and mediations — ensuring nothing falls through the cracks Act as point of contact and resource for all adminisrtative functions for the Partner's Unit Manage a high case count — organizing tasks, monitoring calendar accuracy, and ensuring all matters are addressed on time Support discovery processes, scheduling, and client communications as the practice demands Provide coverage and assistance to other legal assistants as opportunities arise, maintaining team continuity and quality Qualifications Prior experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or comparable legal support role — Workers' Compensation background strongly preferred Demonstrated proficiency managing complex attorney calendars and deadline-driven workflows Strong command of legal document drafting, formatting, and Florida filing procedures Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with counsel, clients, and vendors Highly organized with the ability to independently manage competing priorities in a fully remote environment Familiarity with Florida court procedures, e-filing systems, and legal practice management software Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential matters Ability to perform billable legal support tasks with accuracy and accountability Reliable home office setup with a strong, stable internet connection Why Join Us 100% Remote – Florida-Wide: Work from anywhere in the state. No commute, no micromanagement — we trust you to deliver. Meaningful, Billable Work: Half your role is billable legal support. You're a genuine partner to a practice lead, not just an administrator. Variety Every Day: Cross-team collaboration with Office Services and exposure to all facets of Workers' Compensation law keeps your skills growing. Supportive Culture: Clear direction, a collaborative team, and a firm that values precision and people equally. Our firm is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status, age, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
