Robert Half is currently partnering with a respected public-sector organization to recruit a dynamic Administration Manager to lead a team of 20+ administrative professionals across multiple office locations in Alberta. This is a high-impact leadership role ideal for a strategic thinker with a passion for collaboration, operational excellence, and team development in a unionized setting.
WAbout the Role
As the Administration Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day administrative operations, implementing efficient systems, and fostering a positive and productive work culture. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, union representatives, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth operations and alignment with organizational goals.
eKey Responsibilities
Lead and support administrative teams across Provincial and SARO offices.
Conduct regular team meetings and ensure operational alignment.
Manage recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and staff development.
Approve overtime, leave, remote work, and timesheet submissions.
Coordinate coverage during staff absences and manage reception services.
Represent the department at Board and District meetings when required.
Participate in strategic operations meetings and contribute to organizational initiatives.
Develop and deliver training materials for staff and members.
Oversee facilities maintenance and ensure safe, secure office environments.
Refine and implement administrative procedures and internal communication systems.
Respond to complaints and concerns from members, staff, and local representatives.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in unionized or regulated sectors.
Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and strategic problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication and advocacy abilities.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle (travel required across Alberta).
Preferred Experience
Supervisory or mentoring experience in a unionized or professional setting.
Experience managing multi-site operations and administrative systems.
