Join us in our mission to improve public health through science! PBL has an immediate opening for a Administrative Shipping and Receiving Specialist I in the Administrative Services Department. The Administrative Shipping and Receiving Specialist I is an onsite position that supports the testing departments with sample receipt, verification, discrepancy resolution, and initial project generation within PBL’s database. The Specialist will also aid in study file generation and general office assignments and tasks. RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE ADMINISTRATIVE SHIPPING AND RECEIVING SPECIALIST INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Ensure accuracy of inbound sample and/or supply shipments and storage by verifying sample submission documents and sample labels Label and properly store samples Deliver samples to testing departments while maintaining chain of custody Ensure accuracy of all outbound shipments by collaborating with the testing department for shipment packaging, labeling, and documentation Perform data entry for inbound samples received for testing Assemble and distribute study files Aid in invoicing and billing clients Maintain and organize shipping/receiving sample storage areas Coordinate the release and return or disposal of test samples Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion Responsibilities may occasionally require an adjusted work schedule and overtime to meet deadline Requirements EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Associates or Bachelors degree preferred; or high school degree/GED and 2-5 years of relevant experience. PREFERRED SKILLS The Specialist must be a motivated and capable of working in a fast-paced environment to produce quality and timely results. Attention to detail is essential Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team Strong time management and organizational skills Ability to multitask, follow instructions precisely, and maintain accurate records Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS All activities will be performed in a cGMP and GLP environment Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work weekends if needed Positions requires mobile use of hands and arms Must be able to work at a computer terminal for up to three hours at a time, and for up to eight hours on a given day The pay range for this position is $52,000 to $58,000 paid on hourly basis excluding overtime. The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
