POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a full-time position to work in the KCC docket room which processes all documents filed with the Commission.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four years of experience in general office, clerical or administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
  • Prior work experience in a court clerk’s office handling document filings or legal experience is an advantage.
    Must be precise and detail-oriented with strong vocabulary and communication skills, have the ability to focus attention on details and follow state regulations and internal policies outlining docket room procedure and processing of documents filed with the Commission, and possess strong computer skills.

Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate: A valid Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate is a condition of employment for all employees of the State of Kansas. A Tax Clearance can be obtained through the Kansas Department of Revenue who reviews individual accounts for compliance with Kansas Tax Law.

Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Processes all documents into the case management database; distributes documents to the staff within 24 hours of receipt; and processes documents within the workflow of a case management program.
  • Preparation of reports, lists, and information as requested regarding the filing of documents and their deadlines.
  • Entry of deadlines, schedules, hearing dates, etc. into a case management system for availability on the KCC website.
  • Respond to requests for information from many individuals inside and outside of the Commission.
  • Serves as back up to the Commissioner’s Executive Secretary.
  • Position requires a high degree of responsibility and accountability.
  • Position requires a detail-oriented and organized person.
