Position Summary Works under general direction to perform responsible clerical work involved in scheduling, analyzing, processing, and maintaining policy-level financial, statistical, and data control reports and records with wide latitude for the exercise of initiative and independent judgment to act in a lead capacity. Pay Grade: 43 Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education   Minimum Qualifications * Four (4) years of experience in appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing or statistical work; AND * High School diploma or possess a GED; OR * Three (3) years of experience in appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing, or statistical work; and one (1) year of college study (30 semester hours or 36 quarter hours). * PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.   Duties and Responsibilities * Prepares and maintains records securing accuracy and meeting requirements of CALEA, * ACA, POST, TCI, and NIC regarding school administrative files and student records. * Compiles information from various resources and can produce statistical information regarding training data, such as preparing monthly Training Key Indicator Reports in Excel and compiling student numbers for specific courses in Crystal Reports. * Verifies information compiled, analyzed, recorded, and maintained. * Types and organizes school curriculums and roll calls for law enforcement and jail students. * Gathers test questions from instructors and composes exams for classes. * Composes letters, memos, and reports related to the functions of the Training Division, under the direction of the Office Manager * Generates reports to ensure all employees receive yearly in-service training, which includes tracking employee training record history. * Enters SOS field codes for Training employees and generates weekly reports. * Performs data entry by keying school training hours and grades into the computer system to generate memos, letters, and reports regarding SCSO law enforcement personnel, jail, civilian, and other agencies attending Academy. * Coordinates and organizes scheduling of officers with division commanders through correspondence and verbal communications. * Gathers test questions from instructors and composes exams for classes. * Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.   KSAs * General knowledge of the Sheriff’s Office Division’s operation and knowledge of modern office practices. * Ability to plan, organize, and maintain an even flow of work. * Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making when interpreting policy and procedure. * Possess effective research, analytical, and reading skills. * Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with others regarding information related to training standards. * Ability to prepare reports, knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word software applications. * Knowledge of training functions and facility. * Ability to establish and maintain a system of records and reports.
