The team is responsible for recruiting and assessing potential foster carers to join the fostering service and are part of the wider fostering service where there are two further post approval fostering teams and one connected carers team.
Based at Angel Square, Northampton you’ll play a key role in ensuring our foster carers and team members receive the administrative support they need to thrive. From managing diaries and minuting meetings to processing invoices and medicals, your work will help create a smooth and efficient environment for those making a difference in children’s lives.

What will you be doing?

As a Business Support Officer, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring everything runs like clockwork. Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing high-quality administrative support to the fostering team and potential foster carers.
• Coordinating and processing key documents such as medicals, DBS checks and invoices.
• Supporting the Skills to Foster training by booking rooms, organising refreshments and “meet and greet” potential foster carers as they attend the training.
• Managing correspondence and maintaining accurate records
• Taking minutes at meetings and supporting diary management
• Adapting to the needs of a fast-paced, people-focused environment

About you

You’re a proactive and detail-oriented administrator who thrives in a busy, people-centred environment. You bring:

• A strong sense of initiative and the ability to work independently
• Excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail
• Confidence using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Familiar with CHARMS the system used by the fostering service or a willingness to learn.
• Experience working in a customer-focused setting, with a commitment to confidentiality and data protection
• The ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic setting
• Flexibility on tasks as these can change at short notice.
