FURTHER DETAILS/PŪROKO

This is a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours) position, located in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.
Hours of work are Monday- Friday 8:30am - 5pm.
The appointment range for this role is $61,360 to $65,879. Top of the range is $71,150.
You must have the right to live and work in New Zealand to apply for this position.

Responsibilities

The Department of Geology (Te Tari Tātai Arowhenua) at the University of Otago is internationally recognized for its excellence in research and teaching. The department’s research is deeply connected to New Zealand’s dynamic geology, the Southern Ocean, and Antarctica.
This Administrator role based within our Geology Department, provides a variety of administrative support to the academic, teaching and research activities. No two days are the same, from finance administration to post-graduate support. This role is vital to the running of the department.

Key tasks include:

  • Providing administration support to academic and professional staff.
  • Responding to student or visitor enquiries.
  • Coordinating local administration processes such as recruitment, induction, and teaching administration support.
  • Maintaining timetable information.
  • Planning and logistics for travel.
  • Meeting support.
  • Financial tasks including purchase card reconciliation, reimbursements, purchasing and invoicing.
