ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

LRO Staffing is partnering with a respected healthcare-focused organization in Ottawa to recruit a Senior Administrator, Medical Governance & Physician Affairs for a full-time, permanent opportunity. This role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to support governance, physician affairs, and medical funding operations within an academic healthcare setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of funding, governance oversight, and administrative excellence in support of physician members and organizational leadership.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management and organization of the entity, reporting directly to the Governance Board and Management Committee
  • Manage the flow of Alternate Funding Program (AFP) funds from the Ministry of Health through to practice plans and academic physicians
  • Organize and administer the annual peer-reviewed research competition, including application intake, review panel coordination, and allocation of funds
  • Serve as secretariat to the Governance Board, preparing agendas, minutes, reports, and maintaining accurate governance records
  • Provide administrative and operational support to physician groups, practice plans, and medical staff committees as required
  • Manage monthly bookkeeping and payment processes, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, reporting, and audits
  • Coordinate data collection and reporting related to physician academic activities, AFP earnings, and other Ministry of Health reporting requirements
  • Support annual audit processes, prepare financial and program reports, and liaise with auditors and government representatives
  • Draft newsletters, communications, and board updates; participate in provincial governance and AFP meetings as needed
  • Support onboarding of new physician members, enrollment in billing programs, and orientation to organizational policies and processes
  • Maintain and update rosters, membership records, and related documentation
  • Provide guidance and administrative leadership on governance and funding processes, ensuring compliance with policies, agreements, and standards
